3-Week Didgeridoo Workshop
Over the course of 3 weeks (9 classes), you will meet for approximately 2 hours and learn all the steps in creating a didgeridoo. First, you’ll create the most simple of didgeridoos…out of paper towel rolls! Then, you’ll graduate to an agave/century plant didgeridoo. Daniel will show you how to prepare, hollow out, sand, seal, sand, reassemble, sand, seal, seal, seal, tune, and decorate, and play your didgeridoo. You will also learn the enigmatic Circular Breathing. This is a hands-on workshop.

Week #1
(7/1, 7/2, 7/6)- ~~~ DAY 1 ~~~
- History and use of didgeridoo.
- Didgeridoo sound healing.
- Create a paper-towel roll didgeridoo.
- Hunting and harvesting agave in integrity and sacred ceremony.
- ~~~ DAY 2 ~~~
- Prep your agave. Strip the plant of leaves and trim top and root ball.
- Find your balance point and marking your centerline.
- ~~~ DAY 3 ~~~
- Split your agave in half.
Week #2
(7/8 , 7/9 , 7/13)- ~~~ DAY 1 ~~~
- Carving your channel and removing grubs.
- Filling pin holes and fixing any damaged areas.
- ~~~ DAY 2 ~~~
- Sanding your patchwork and your channel.
- Sealing your inner channel (epoxy/tung oil).
- ~~~ DAY 3 ~~~
- Gluing the side edges and reassembling.
- Filling all holes and gaps with wood putty.
Week #3
(7/15, 7/16, 7/20)- ~~~ DAY 1 ~~~
- Sand the exterior.
- Create beeswax/pvc mouthpiece.
- Seal the exterior with 1st coat.
- ~~~ DAY 2 ~~~
- Continue decorating.
- Add next finish coats.
- Playing the didgeridoo.
- ~~~ DAY 3 ~~~
- Playing your didgeridoo for music and healing.
- Final Lesson: How to Circular Breathe.
